One of my fathers best! Warm, filling, fall dish that will be a serious new comfort food added to your recipe box.

Nice new twist to corned beef and cabbage.
I love how I can adjust the recipe so easily! Definitely a family favorite!

Recipe written by a "Hungry Cave Man". This recipe is written to serve 2 people as a main dish. It can easily be doubled, tripled, or how many times over that you would need to multiply. Now, lets get it in the oven!!


Dad's Corned Beef Cabbage


Ingredients


All sizes and portions are approximate. Easily adjust the recipe to your liking and family size.

  • 1/2 Large Head of Cabbage.

  • 1/2 stick of butter

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp garlic

  • Hot sauce of your choice. (My favorite is Texas Pete!)

  • 1/3 lb. thick sliced corned beef

  • 1/3 c. chicken stock

  • smoke seasoning

Directions


Easy, self explanatory, directions anyone can do.

  1. Line baking pan with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cut cabbage into approximately 2 inch squares and place into lined pan.

  1. Slice butter and place on top of cabbage.

  2. Sprinkle seasonings and hot sauce over your cabbage and butter.

  1. Lay corned beef over top.

  2. Pour chicken stock and a light touch of your favorite smoke seasoning over top.

  3. Lay another layer of parchment paper over the top of your pan. Roll the edges together with bottom to seal tightly. Do not vent the paper! It will vent itself.

  1. Place in oven roughly 1 hour.

  2. Use one of our 'RLWetland Insulated Hot Pads or Oven Mitts' to remove your finished dish from the oven!
